Who We Are

The Potter's Hands Foundation is a faith-based, non-profit 501c3 organization committed to serving survivors of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking as they work through the process of restoration and healing.

We are dedicated to providing a safe, secure environment in which female victims of severe childhood sexual abuse, human trafficking, and victims of human sex trafficking will receive physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, and learn the skills necessary for self-reliance and reintegration to society. We will also assist these individuals in building a support network of healthy relationships with family, friends, and community.  Our overall goal is to support these women through the restoration process enabling them to become healthy and productive members of their communities.

We invite you to enjoy this radio interview featuring our Executive Director, Deb Kuehner, as she shares a succinct overview of the Potter's Hands Foundation.

Our Mission

Guided by the gospel of Jesus Christ and empowered by the Word of God, The Potter’s Hands Foundation, Inc. is dedicated to providing a safe, secure environment in which women will receive mental health counseling and be nurtured in physical, emotional, and spiritual healing, while being equipped with the skills necessary for self-reliance and reintegration to society through building a support network of healthy relationships with family, friends, church, and community.

Our Story

Our story began in 2012 when Deborah, our founder and executive director, became aware of the atrocities of sexual slavery after her daughter-in-law visited Calcutta, India, and returned to the United States with a passion for saving girls from this brutal exploitation.

After hearing her daughter-in-law's heart, Deborah began to research the issue only to discover that it was a global crisis and a much bigger problem in the United States than she ever thought possible.

Soon after, she organized a group of individuals with a passion for this work, and together they established The Potter’s Hands Foundation to do their part in combating sex-trafficking in Western, NY.

They each began sharing their knowledge and understanding of the crisis with everyone they encountered. They found that once people became aware of this horrific crime against America’s women and children, they, too, wanted to join the fight in this battle.

The Potter’s Hands Foundation was incorporated in October of 2013.

The Potter’s Hands Foundation is a faith-based non-profit organization formed in 2013. At that time, under the leadership of our founder, a small group of Christians from different churches and denominations came together and committed to caring for and serving survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve those the world continually rejected, and we desire to follow His leading.

While this is our motivation, we recognize that not everyone shares our faith, including the survivors who reside in our home and participate in our programs. Our intention is that ALL persons who enter our home or participate in our programs would feel safe, secure and welcome. Although our Christian faith is inextricably tied to our mission and methods, we place no obligation or requirement on our residents, volunteers or referral partners.
